Job Requirements of Registered Practical Nurse - Permanent Part Time - Med/Surg:
2 North is the Medical Surgical floor of GBGH, featuring 35 full beds and 2 overflow spaces. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will collaborate with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care to a diverse range of patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing various medical conditions with dedication and expertise. From post-operative recovery to the management of acute medical conditions, the 2 North Medical Surgical floor is equipped to handle a wide spectrum of cases. Focusing on holistic healing, the RN will strive to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients throughout their journey. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the compassionate, patient-centered approach we bring to every interaction. As a valued member of the crew, the RN’s role is essential in upholding the high standards of care that define our 2 North Medical Surgical floor. - QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
- Graduate of a recognized Registered Practical Nursing Program
- Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with all patients, physicians, staff, and visitors. Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors. Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Willingness to participate in process improvement
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment
- Commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
ASSETS
- Bilingual in English and French
- Meditech Expanse knowledge is considered an asset
- Experience in post-surgical care is considered an asset
- Completion of a Medication Administration Course
- Completion of Coronary Care 1 Certificate

COMPENSATION

- Hourly rate of pay $36.33 to $37.05, vacation accrual starting at two (2) weeks per year.

HOURS OF WORK
